Where do you find your worth?
You are worth it
I think this is something we often forget day-to-day. We tend to search for our worth in others, in our relationships, in our accomplishments. These things do not define us, and we shouldn’t want them to define us. Our number one definition should be a child of God, a follower of Jesus. That is where we should find our worth. We should find our worth in Jesus even when our circumstances are bad. Our worth in Christ doesn’t change when we don’t achieve a goal, and it doesn’t change even when the world thinks you are worthless. Jesus says that you are worth dying for.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
You are a masterpiece
It’s true, you are a masterpiece designed by the creator of all of the universe. You were hand-crafted by the God who made the sea, the earth and the stars. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10). He planned everything about you. God does not make mistakes. Find your worth in being who God made you to be.
If you’re still not convinced of your worth in God’s eyes, “Consider the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?” (Matthew 6:26). Well, aren’t you worth more than they? Humans are God’s beloved creation. Not just a couple of humans, but all of them. God loves all of His creation!
Earthly weakness does not determine your worth
The world and society looooove to tell us who we are and who we should be. They like to tell us we are not good enough, or that our weaknesses determine our worth. This is not true. Weakness is strength in the bible. “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.” (2 Corinthians 12:9). His power is made perfect in our weakness. Where we are weak, He is stronger. So, do not let people tell you that because you are weak you are not worth it or you are not good enough. Because God’s power is unfathomable and it will consume any weakness in our life, if we find our worth in Him.
God see’s the real you
God sees your heart. He does not care about what is on the outside. To Him your worth is in your heart. He cares about your intentions, your love for other people, your patience, your mercy. God does not care how popular, how “fun,” how athletic, how attractive, or how good at life you are. He cares only for your heart. Do not put your worth in your abilities, or in your career. Especially, do not put your worth in your financial situation. God sees the real you…
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or his stature because I have rejected him. Humans do not see what the Lord sees, for humans see what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)
You are loved
If you don’t take anything away from my posts other than this I will be happy. You are so loved! “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). We have to understand that God did not have to save us. He did not have to give us access to Heaven or Him. God loves us so much that, though we are sinners and He can’t be in the presence of sin, He designed a rescue plan for us. God loves you so much that He put His own son in your place, so that you could have hope and life.
No matter how hurtful the evil in this world can be, no matter what you have done in the past, you can hold on to this truth…your worth is found in Christ.
